Borrowed, per below, from
cadhla (original text partially rewritten and personalized):
What's a Fanfic Advent Calendar?
An advent calendar counts down the days from December 1st to Christmas in some fashion. Many come with little verses inside, some come with little chocolate candy in them. I, being easily amused and too easily suborned to the silly side, have borrowed
cadhla's idea of writing a drabble a day till Christmas.
What fandom?
Multi-fandom.
Uh...how does that work?
Every day will have a fandom, a title, and a character or pairing. These will be taken from the comments on the previous drabble. If a drabble receives no comments suggesting the next day, I'll just come up with something. Suggestions do need to have a holiday theme; this is, after all, a countdown to Christmas.
So if I comment first, I can tell you what to write?
Not quite. Whatever is suggested has to interest me, and it has to be in a fandom I know. (My "interests" list includes most of the fan-universes I'm willing to play in, but it's early and I may have forgotten something, so don't take it as a hard limit.) I'll go back over the previous day's comments when I get ready to write the next day's drabble, and work from there. I may or may not, depending on the level of comment -- this being a very new LJ -- store up ideas from early days' comments for later use; we'll see how that works as the volume develops.
How are you doing today?
By looking at any comments I get on this entry, of course (although I may just dive in, too).
Can I do this, too?
By all means! Just let me know, so I can wander over and . . . suggest . . . things.
