Oh, I know, it's not a valid comparison -- with story posts, such response as there is shows up on the story page (or is supposed to, at any rate).  Nonetheless, I am amused to observe that the Thinkgeek post represents the most comment traffic on a single entry that this journal has had in years.  Clearly I need to re-think my posting strategy.

LOL, it is ironic, isn't it? But recs, as you say - they depend on people knowing the fandoms, and any reactions go to the fic. It can get so discouraging, especially when you only have to type something stupid like, "I have a rotten cold at the moment" to get 10 instant replies.

But it's the things that are easier to reply to, and don't require either shared knowledge or as much time or matching tastes, I suppose. It is ironic, though.
